The Originals Has its Most Watched Episode of the Season, Matches Season Highs in Adults 18-49 and Women 18-34; Supernatural Has its Second Most Watched Episode of the Season!

This is the kind of news that warms the cockles of my vampire lovin’ hunter’s heart.  On the heels of the series’ full season pickup this week, The Originals had its most watched episode of the season (2.38M), and helped give The CW its most watched Tuesday night in more than four years (2.36M, since 9/8/09), according to preliminary Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

The Originals matched its season highs in adults 18-49 (1.1/3), and women 18-34 (1.5/4), hit a new season high in women 18-49 (1.5/4), and tied its second best number of the season in adults 18-34 (1.0/3).

The Originals outrated both Fox and ABC in the hour in women 18-34, and tied Fox in adults 18-34.

Week to week, The Originals rose 25% in adults 18-34, 36% in women 18-34, 22% in adults 18-49 and 17% in total viewers.

Supernatural had its second most-watched episode of the season last night (2.35M), and gained week to week across the board, rising 11% in adults 18-34 (1.0/3), up 11% in adults 18-49 (1.0/3), up 20% in women 18-34 (1.2/4), and growing 9% in total viewers (2.35M).

Week to week, The CW’s Tuesday night was up 22% in adults 18-49 (1.1/3), up 11% in adults 18-34 (1.0/3), up 27% in women 18-34 (1.4/4), and up 13% in total viewers (2.36M).

Versus the equivalent Tuesday night last season, year to year The CW doubled its ratings in both adults 18-34 and women 18-34, more than doubled its adults 18-49 average and was up 56% in total viewers.

The Originals has also seen huge amounts of time-shifted viewing this season, most recently more than doubling both its adults 18-34 and women 18-34 ratings in Live + 7 Day viewing compared to Live + Same Day, and nearly doubling its rating in adults 18-49. Supernatural also sees big increases, adding 70% in women 18-34, 56% in adults 18-34, and 46% in adults 18-49 when compared to L+SD data.
