ABC axes V and No Ordinary Family

ABC announced cancelations today, and unfortunately some Whedon alums are going to the unemployment line this Friday the 13th.

The remake of V, starring Morena Baccarin as the super creepy and evil Lizard Queen, improved in ratings but never got above mediocre numbers, despite a pretty awesome second season featuring original baddie Jane Badler as Diana, Anna’s kinder, gentler, evil mother.

No Ordinary Family with likeable Julie Benz also got the axe, but seriously, were you surprised? The problems with that show began with the fact that there were no surprises. But hey, I’ll still wear my Comic-Con t-shirt. When I wash the car.

Other shows permanently deleted are Brothers & Sisters, Off the Map, Better With You, Detroit 187 and Mr. Sunshine starring likeable Matthew Perry. Someone should put him and Julie together, yes?

Let’s all have a moment of silence for the fallen.
