Sarah Michelle GellarIf it worked for Alyson Hannigan, will it work for Sarah Michelle Gellar?

Our favorite Slayer,  who was last seen on TV playing twins in the CW soap Ringer, hopes to return to star in a sitcom next fall. More after the jump…..

Several TV sites have announced that she is shopping a half-hour sitcom produced by 20th Century Fox. TV Line says the show will be about parents, and what happens when their kids aren’t around. Shepard Boucher, who is a staff writer for Men at Work for TBS, wrote the script. One of the executive producers is with Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23.

Gellar, who played Buffy for seven seasons on the old WB and UPN networks, gave birth to her second child, a boy, last fall. Her first child, a daughter, was born in September 2009.
