After taking a worldwide trip to promote his first episodes as the Doctor last year, Peter Capaldi will be featured in the Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 on Thursday July 9th in Hall H. He’ll be joined by Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara, and Michelle Gomez as Missy. Executive producers Steven Moffat and Brian Michen will also be on hand for what could be the most exciting first day Comic-Con has had in years.
Capaldi is very excited about his first trip to San Diego. “Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world,” he told BBC America. “It’s become a fabled kingdom. One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H, is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from.”
He might be amused by all fans dressed up as Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, and all of the Doctor’s past selves. He may wonder, though, about those who dress up as the TARDIS.
The panel is expected to provide a preview of the first two episodes, The Magician’s Apprentice and The Witch’s Familiar, both written by Moffat. A premiere date for the new season has yet to be announced.
