This week is another dark episode, this time turning Marvel super-heroes into zombies. The horror comes not only from how this happens, but from how fate creates several roadblocks. There are also several callbacks to previous episodes.
The finale officially declares Sam Wilson as Captain America, but he tries to convince Karli that death won’t change the world. John Walker still wants revenge against her, and fans find out who’s the Power Broker (and it’s who what some suspected).
Who gets to be a hero? That’s the real question asked this week John Walker thinks he should still be a hero after last week’s tragedy, and he’ll do anything to keep that. A mysterious contessa may give him an option.
Meanwhile, Sam decides if he wants to use the shield Steve Rogers gave him, he should. He and Bucky are still worried about what Karli and the Flag Smashers will do next.
Things get more complicated for Sam an Bucky as they try to keep the Dora Milaje away from Zemo, while trying to convince Karli her way to make a new world doesn’t work. John Walker and Lemar ruin things several times, but an unexpected death leads to a decision that literally shocks the world.
The return of Chris Evans as Captain America will likely extend Marvel’s winning streak of hit movies. It’s a great political thriller where Cap faces a dangerous piece of his past, which will really shake up the Marvel Universe.
